Damian is passionate about all aspects of the sport, but particularly wants local, state and national level stakeholders to work together in the best interest of our sport from grassroots participation through to international representation. He believes the key to this is good communication and agreed common goals. VWA and its board are focused on improving this. The Board want all of our members and all volleyball players in WA to understand that the VWA Board volunteer their time to make the sport as good as it can be, for as many as possible. The Board make decisions based on feedback provided across many mediums including player surveys, personal discussions and meetings and appreciate it is not always possible to keep everyone happy all the time.

The Board’s ongoing challenge is to find the balance between elite level and participation level and they are guided by our major sponsors The Department of Sport and Recreation and Healthway in how these services are delivered. We attempt to be completely transparent in everything we do and all minutes of meetings and information about our strategic direction and more are available on the VWA website.

The VWA board is always keen for your constructive feedback, but also welcome those with a passion who might like to join one of our committees or even the Board.
