Volleyball WA are excited to announce Southern Ports have agreed to return as the Community Events sponsor for Optus Volley by the Bay 2019.
Following a successful 2018 event, the Southern Ports partnership means Volleyball WA will once again be able to provide a range of community activities and activations for the south west region.
Volleyball WA Chief Executive Officer Robyn Kuhl applauded the return of Southern Ports and believes that the legacy established by Volley by the Bay in 2018 ‘means volleyball can continue to build on its presence in the south west through major regional contributors like Southern Ports.’
“We’re thrilled to have Southern Ports back as a partner for Optus Volley by the Bay 2019. Their commitment to driving community engagement is second to none and in 2019 we’re excited to deliver a new range of Community Events. ” Ms. Kuhl said.
“Volleyball is a game for all and through our partnership with Southern Ports we’re excited to get the south west community up and active. Whether it’s a Kids Volley Clinic or taking part in the Australian Volleyroos Q&A, we’re delighted to help the south west discover their volleyball game.”
Over the six day competition, Volleyball WA and Southern Ports will deliver five community events including three kids volley clinics for south west kids, a coaching clinic for parents and school teachers as well as the Southern Ports Opening Ceremony.
The partnership will also see the event deliver national activations including a community question and answer session with Australian Helloworld Travel Volleyroos Jennifer Sadler. Volleyball WA will also coordinate a Volleyball Australia forum at the Dolphin Discovery Centre for the national athletes attending the Optus Volley by the Bay 2019 event.

Optus Volley by the Bay 2019 will start with the Australian U23 Beach Volleyball Championships on the 13th and 14thof April, followed by the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships from the 15th to the 18th.
