Schumann & McHugh set for Volley by the Bay

Following an electrifying and historic win at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Australia’s Damien Schumann and Chris McHugh will head to Australia’s South West to take part in Volley by the Bay.

Schumann and McHugh will attend the finals of the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships as event ambassadors. Taking part in the day’s festivities Schumann and McHugh will have a free signing session for the public from 10am and take part in the event’s Live Stream coverage and Closing Ceremony.

“I’m super pumped to take part in the tournament. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the players and getting down to Bunbury.” Schumann said.

“I didn’t actually make the state team the first few times I tried out, so these players are all a step a head of where I was at their age. It’s going to be fun to see everyone.”

Australia’s Chris McHugh and Damien Schumann have made history by winning the first ever Gold Medal handed out for Beach Volleyball at a Commonwealth Games.

The nine-day Volley by the Bay event is underway with the Alcohol. Think Again Beach Tour wrapping up in wet and windy conditions on Sunday. The Australian U23 Beach Volleyball Championships are now underway, with the championships’s finals set for Wednesday afternoon.
