Fremantle Volleyball set to deliver Casual Volley

Volleyball WA is excited to announce Fremantle Volleyball Club as the first WAVL State League club to officially deliver Discover Volleyball’s Casual Volley program.

Designed to get people active, Casual Volley offers participants the chance to play without having to commit to a multi-week program or structured competition.

The program has been piloted over the last 12 months at Herb Graham Centre, Cannington Leisureplex and Visko Park as part of separate funded projects. However Fremantle Volleyball club represent a substantial step in Volleyball WA’s participation strategy to make volleyball the game for all.

“These sessions are open for anyone wanting to play in a relaxed social atmosphere with random teams, mixed height net and no scoring.” Fremantle Volleyball Club President Stuart Carr said.

Fremantle Volleyball Club will be running the program every Saturday at Methodist Ladies College in Claremont from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The program will be delivered following Kids Volley sessions at 1:00pm to 2:00pm. More information on the Fremantle Volleyball Club Casual Volley program can be found here.

“It’s great to have Fremantle Volleyball Club signed up as our first Casual Volley centre. Volleyball WA are excited to offer lifestyle friendly programs that help West Australians find 30. We believe the ongoing delivery of programs like this will have a massive benefit on the sport and our clubs.” Club and Workforce Development Coordinator Julian Lloyd said.

As an official Discover Volleyball deliverer Fremantle Volleyball club will be able to access more marketing opportunities and expand the sports exposure to people who are not interested in traditional volleyball events.

Now in its second year, Discover Volleyball is a campaign developed by Volleyball WA focusing on providing entry points into the sport through social play. The 13 programs and products deliver active ways for both current members and newcomers to play volleyball.
