Referees are essential to any sport. Without referees and other officials, the lack of rule enforcement would make volleyball a significantly less pleasant sport to play.

Referee Framework

Referee accreditation is split into a series of levels (1, 2, 3 & 4). These levels reflect on the referee’s experience and overall ability to officiate the game of volleyball. To move through the levels, referees are required to attend a course and complete an assessment.

Referee accreditations are valid for two (2) years from the registration date for Levels 1 & 4 and four (4) years for Levels 2 & 3 before they need to be renewed.  Please log into your member portal and look under ‘My Membership’ on the dashboard page to check the status of your accreditation.  If you are a club, please check your members qualifications in the ‘my club members’ table.

Volleyball Australia are in the process of reviewing the Referee Accreditation Framework and further information will be provided when available.
