AVL 2017 COMES TO PERTH

World Class Volleyball Action Returns to WA

The 2017 Australian Volleyball League season is hotting up as the Volleyball WA Pearls and Hornets host Australia’s best at home.

Fast-paced action, incredible athleticism and great entertainment are on show as some of Australia’s best indoor volleyball teams battle it out in the 2017 Australian Volleyball League Southern Conference. The Volleyball WA Pearls and Hornets began their season with a 4-0 sweep of the Adelaide Storm in Adelaide, and host the Storm this weekend in the first of a three-round home series.

Fans will be treated to all the spectacular action volleyball has to offer, with many Helloworld Australia Volleyroos returning home after successful campaigns in the FIVB Volleyball World League and FIVB Volleyball Grand Prix.

The atmosphere is electric when the Pearls and Hornets take the court, with entertainment, food & drink, competitions, prizes and giveaways as well as plenty to do for the kids including coaching clinics and chances to meet AVL players and coaches.

Captain of the Pearls, Jen Harris said there’s always added inspiration when stepping onto the court in WA. “It’s an amazing feeling when you have familiar faces supporting you and we can’t wait showcase our hard work next weekend”. The Hornets and the Pearls have been working closely with new sponsor “Ookus” who has helped to lift the profile of both teams to the people of Perth and Australia. Captain of the Hornets, Matt Pallot feels that with the hard work of Ookus and Volleyball WA both teams have been able to attract new spectators and fans to our sport. “We are really excited for this first home round, it’s been a lot to fun working alongside the Ookus team and we know that this next few weeks playing at home is going to be great for the people of Perth”.
