Spikezone and Junior League are Back!

With the new season underway of both the Spikezone and Junior League volleyball competitions, we are excited about the enthusiasm displayed by the athletes involved and their families. This season we have 10 teams participating in Spikezone which is played at Rossmoyne SHS. For those of you who aren’t aware, Spikezone is our modified version of volleyball designed especially for primary school students aged between 8 and 13 years. The program offers a fun environment where children can learn and develop their volleyball skills alongside their friends.

When asked how they enjoyed their game, many Spikezone players shared the response “that was so fun!” Just the feedback we love to hear from new players to our sport. The President of Rossmoyne Volleyball Club, Peter Batty, had this to say about the opening round of Spikezone:

“It was fabulous to see all the kids having a great time having lots of fun playing Spikezone last Friday night. All the Club and Primary School teams were striving to win their games with alternating periods of intense concentration and excitement throughout their game. The kids I spoke to after the games were really keen to come back again every day!”

An impressive 43 teams are competing in the current Junior League season. It is wonderful to see so many young Western Australians enjoying our sport! Did you know that you can represent your school in Junior League? These competitions are run at various locations around Perth including The Rise, St Mary’s Anglican School and Rossmoyne SHS.

There was a lively atmosphere at all games played across Perth during the season openers of both competitions on Friday, 2nd of May. We encourage family and friends to come along and support our Spikezone and Junior League competitors throughout the season and to join in on their volleyball experience!
