This online coaching course is designed to provide the basic foundations of volleyball coaching.

Validity: 2 years

To complete the Level 1 Coaching Course:

1. Log into your Volleyball Australia Accreditation Portal account or create a new one.
2. Click on the Coach Accreditation tab and select Volleyball Australia Coach Accreditation - Level 1 .
3. Read  carefully the Course Information on the right side of the page and follow  the indicated steps. This includes purchasing and completing the VA Fundamentals of Coaching Course and completing Sport Integrity Australia/Play by the Rules modules.
4. Click on Apply and submit the relevant documents.

NOTE

1. Candidates must be at least 14 years of age and must be or become a member of VWA.
2. Technical Memberships for non-players are free can be assigned after course completion.
3. Your application and the documents submitted will be reviewed by Volleyball WA before being granted your Level 1 Coach Accreditation.
4. Your accreditation history can be viewed under your Account tab in VA's Accreditation Portal.

This face-to-face, one day coaching course is designed to provide volleyball enthusiasts with a deeper understanding of volleyball coaching.

VWA can organise this course for your group, club, school, or community group.

Price: $152.50 for Platinum/Gold Members | $159.50 for Non-Members

Validity: 4 years

To Register for a Level 2 Coaching Course:

1. Candidates must be at least 16 years of age, hold a current Level 1 Coach accreditation and be a member of Volleyball WA.
2. Log into your Volleyball Australia Accreditation Portal.
3. Under Events, select the desired VA Level 2 Coach Face to Face Course
4. Complete the event registration and pay the course fee. You will receive an email to confirm your registration.

To complete the Level 2 Coaching Accreditation:

1. Attend the face-to-face session that you registered for. 
2. Record and complete your Coaching Log Sheet with at least 20 practical hours of coaching.
3. Undertake 1x Training Session and 1x Match Day assessments by a VA Level 3 Coach.
4.  Complete the Australian Sport Commission Community Coaching - Essential Skills Course and attain the Certificate of Completion.

5.  Complete the following Sport Integrity Australia and Play By The Rules modules and attain the E-Learning Certificate of Completion:       

      -SIA- Anti-Doping Fundamentals

      -SIA- Child Safeguarding in Sport Induction (18 year olds and older)

      -PBTR- Child Protection and Safeguarding (18 year olds and older)

      -PBTR- Harassment and Discrimination

6. Log into the Volleyball Australia Accreditation Portal and submit all of your documents.

This three-day face-to-face coaching course is the highest coaching qualification available through VWA and refines previously developed skills. The curriculum covers attacking and defensive systems in both volleyball and beach volleyball, training and game coaching methodology, talent identification considerations, principles in performance analysis, athlete physical development and recovery systems, coach and athlete pathways.

Price: $500 (2024 fee)

The requirements to complete the Level 3 Coaching Course are:

• Participants must have a valid Level 2 Coaching accreditation
• Attend a Level 3 Coaching Face-to-Face Course, WA hosts one about every 2 years
• You will need to follow the Course Information steps on VA's Accreditation Portal to upgrade from a Level 3 - Associate to a Level 3 - National accreditation
• Note that acquiring  the SportAus Intermediate Coaching General Principles costs an extra $150 additional to the course fee (step number 4 in the course information).
• The next Level 3 Coach Course will be the 16, 17 and 18 of February 2024

The following table indicates which process you need to do to ensure that your accreditation remains valid.

You can check the status of your accreditation via the VWA Member Portal or VA's Accreditation Portal.

Level 1

This accreditation cannot be renewed and needs to be redone.

Level 2 and 3 Coach Renewal process:

1. Log into your Volleyball Australia Accreditation Portal.
2. Click on the Coach Accreditation tab and select the Volleyball Australia Coach Accreditation level that you need to renew.
3. Read  carefully the Course Information on the right side of the page and follow  the indicated steps. This mainly includes:

   • Completing the activities required to earn the required Continued Development Credit points and recording them on the VA CDC Points Log Sheet - Coaches 

     or

     Providing a current coaching CV outlining your recent coaching activites including any development activites undertaken over the past 4 years.

   • Submitting any required documents to verify your coaching CDC points or CV.

   • Completing Sport Integrity Australia and Play By The Rules modules and attaining the E-Learning Certificate of Completion.

4. Click on Apply and submit the relevant documents.
5. Complete payment.
6. Wait for approval.

Level 1

This accreditation is not eligible for the RPL or RCC process.

Level 2 and 3 Coach RPL/RCC process:

1. Log into your Volleyball Australia Accreditation Portal.
2. Click on the Coach Accreditation tab and select the Volleyball Australia Coach Accreditation level that you are aiming to recover.
3. Read  carefully the Course Information on the right side of the page and follow  the indicated steps. This mainly includes:

   • Providing an updated coaching CV including any formal learning.  

   • Providing a letter of endorsement from your Association, Club or School.

   • Providing any required supporting documents to verify your formal learning.

   • Completing Sport Integrity Australia and Play By The Rules modules and attaining the E-Learning Certificate of Completion:      

4. Click on Apply and submit the relevant documents.
5. Complete payment.
6. Wait for approval.

This is a list of example activities and resources that will accrue the Continuous Development Credit Points needed for the renewal of your accreditation (except Level 1).

Note: You need to provide proof of attendance or evidence of completion (such as a certificate or diploma)

  • Lecture or present a coach-related course or seminar
  • Attend a seminar or course with a duration of 2 or more days
    • i.e. Volleyball Australia's ParaVolley Development Camp
  • Complete a certified first aid, sport training, or strength and conditioning course
• 10 points
  • Attend a one off VWA or VA coach-related seminar or course, such as:
    • VWA's High Performance Coach Forum or VWA's Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Workshop
      • Refer to our Education Events section to see upcoming opportunities
    • VA's Light Volley Course
  • Attend any other relevant in-person or online seminar or course, such as:
    • DLGSC Seminars or Forums
    • FIVB E-Learning Courses
    • World ParaVolley VolleySlide Course
    • Sport West E-Learning or Workshops

  • Complete any other short online seminar or course, such as:
    • Play by the Rules and Sport Integrity Australia Courses (cannot use the modules already required for your renewal)
      • Course topics include Cyber Safety and Security for Sports, Ethics and Ethical Decision Making in Sport, and LGBTI+ Inclusive Club.
    • AIS E-Learning, such as the Female Performance & Health Initiative
    • Sport Related Concussion Short Course
    • AusSport Community Coaching Masterclasses
