Which of the two days you play is based on your Grade. State Series is split into a total of 6 Grades: AAA, AA, A, B, C, and D. Points are recalculated for each round based on total points earned in your two more recent results.
Your team is ranked based on your two most recent State Series results. If you have not played any State Series events during the current season, your ranking points from your previous season or the Royal Park Open may be used.
If you have no ranking points from the previous season and you did not play in Royal Park, your team will automatically be placed into the lowest Grade. Teams without points may apply for wildcards to play in higher divisions starting in State Series Round 2. To do so, please submit a Wildcard Application to the VWA Office.
You may move up or down a Grade as the season progresses, owing to your own performance as well as how many teams are playing in each round. Fewer teams nominating generally means teams are more likely to end up in a higher grade than they would have otherwise, while having more teams usually means the opposite.
For more information on ranking points and tournament grading, please refer to the Player's Handbook.
Players should expect to play most of the day on the day of their event.
Entry fees for each State Series round are as follows:
- $60 per team for adults
- $50 per team for U/17 juniors.
Please note that Volleyball WA reserves the right to alter the tournament's format and/or entry fees.
To be eligible to pay the junior fee, both players must be under 17 at 12 March, 2012.
